Art Reflections

Naomi Downie is a creative person of faith. Her heart values courageous community, contemplative living and being in nature. She lives in Balmain, Land of the Wangal people of the Eora Nation. She has exhibited in group art shows Watt Space Gallery in Newcastle, Synergy Gallery in Melbourne, and most notably 7 years showing in Harrington St Gallery in Chippendale, Sydney.

Her first Solo Exhibition was with South Sydney Uniting - The Orchard Gallery. Amongst the mix of oil paintings of inner-west city life of still life and landscapes, emerged a theme of loss & the healing power of waterways. This formed the inspiration for her next series.

2021 Feb was her next major exhibition at BalmainSpace Gallery, titled 'Waterways & Belonging". The works explored Spirit of Place - our need to build a relationship with the land & waters we inhabit in order to create a sense of home.
She is looking forward to the 2022 exhibit in August ‘3 Rivers with 3 Artists’ at Art on Darling, Balmain.
