Handmade Cup Set
Rachel Cramer is a secondary school teacher who usually makes more mess in class than her students. Outside the classroom, she specialises in small batch, functional ceramic objects and she loves encouraging others to get their hands covered in clay. As Christian artists, may our lives be moulded by Christ's life, fired by the Holy Spirit and covered by the Great Creator's love.
Handmade Cup Set
AM
Imagine drinking your favourite beverage out of a cup that you have made with your very own hands!
During this elective, you will be equipped and encouraged to construct a set of four functional vessels using the Kurinuki technique (carving out a solid block of clay to obtain interior space). Other hand-building processes and decoration techniques can be addressed depending on the group's interests.
No prior ceramic experience is necessary, just a willingness to get your hands dirty.
YOU'LL BE PROVIDED with a pottery tool kit (to keep!), clay and glazes.
YOU CAN BRING an apron, old towel and any interesting brushes or textures to impress into the clay (stamps, shells, lace, flowers, leaves).
Additional Fee: $50
Max & min numbers apply, make sure you indicate a second choice of morning elective when registering in case your first choice is unavailable.
